This stone has been officially certified by the EMIL Gemological Laboratory (Japan) (Bangkok), an internationally recognized gemological laboratory, as being natural and untreated Jadeite Jade known as “Grade A ”.
This 2.76 ct. cabochon that was cut recently and shows a very dark, Imperial-Green color when placed under a transmitted light source. Under normal overhead lighting conditions the cabochon appears a dark shiny black.
There is a slight visible crack/inclusion in this piece which is why it is being sold at such an incredible price. It is perfect size for a ring of either gender and will last many lifetimes as Jadeite is one of the toughest minerals due to its crystalline structure.

Far rarer than both diamonds and rubies is that of Burmese Translucent Imperial Black Omphacite Jadeite Jade. Only a fraction of the jadeite found in Myanmar is black of which only about 5% is of a fine enough texture that it could be made into jewelry (cabochons). Of that 5% of jewelry quality black jadeite found in Myanmar, only about 1% is translucent in nature and will turn a brilliant imperial green when put under a transmitted light source.
Considered extremely rare in the current world market, Burmese Imperial Translucent Black Omphacite-Jadeite Jade is a unique stone to possess. It is said that this type of Jadeite takes at least 3 times longer to form (300 million years) than jadeite of other colors making the presence of this stone very limited, only found randomly in small amounts.
