Maw Sit Sit is a rare gemstone related to Jade (Known as Kosmochlor) and found only in the jade deposits of the Himalayan foot hills of Hpakan, Burma. The name is derived from the location where the material is mined. The intense green is likely from the high chromium content.
Most people have never seen fine quality Maw Sit Sit. Found in only one deposit on earth so far, maw-sit-sit is reported to have the highest concentration of chromium found in any rock on earth.
