This is made from Burmese Lavender Jadeite Jade (Grade A), the carving performed by Thai Master Craftsmen in the Chiang Mai province of Thailand.
Lavender Jadeite is a very rare color in jadeite jade due to the fact that it needs the trace elements of vanadium and manganese to produce the violet, purple-lavender color in the crystal structure of the jadeite that makes it lavender in color. Vanadium is considered extremely rare in the areas of Burma where Jadeite is found and for it to naturally exist in sufficient quantities to produce the lavender color is one of the reasons this color is just so rare to find in any real saturation or quantity.
Lavender Jadeite Jade has become one of the most expensive colors in the Jade market today, and as a result it has continued to demand extremely high prices which have continued to rise every year.
